I was brought up in the Oil of Ulan (a recently renamed Russian
state) before my parents emigrated to Sydney with my two younger
sisters, Tina and Kelly. I was 6 months old when we moved to the
Sunshine Coast. My childhood was a happy one.

Every week I receive many emails from young fans asking me this
same perplexing question and I’m stuck for words every time. When I
look back now I think it was less about ambition, beauty and natural
ability and more about opportunity and risk. Follow your heart.
